Processes
Saint Guitar Company’s quest to create a superior instrument begins with using quality materials and following a unique set of construction processes. It has been said that if an electric guitar sounds good unplugged the guitar has been well crafted and will sound excellent once it’s plugged in. Saint Guitar Company’s construction techniques create an undeniable resonance and an almost uninterrupted transfer of vibrations from the time the string is plucked, until the sound resonates throughout the guitar and reaches the pickups. This is why every Saint Guitar sounds bright and full even when it is unplugged. Every part of the guitar is pressure fit to ensure that as vibrations travel through the guitar, they will not be dampened by excess fillers or glues. In fact, Saint Guitars could be completely assembled and functional without glue.
Our guitars are made through processes that ensure quality is built into every instrument we produce. Our guitars are hand made from a series of jigs and fixtures that are reminiscent of the days of the craftsmen. Our skilled luthiers consistently shape all our necks by hand , and the result is a guitar neck that has a human feel to it. Consistency and efficiency is our number one goal in the shop, and we hold ourselves to the highest standards. For example, our neck joint is a set style, blind dovetail that is so tight and consistent, it is as if the body and neck is one solid piece of wood. Once it is fashioned in place, even without glue, it is nearly impossible to separate the bond between the neck and the body. This joint is the result of a vast amount of research and development, but the final product is an innovative way to connect the neck to the body. Our neck joint creates an acoustic response that is rare in most electric guitars. Care and effort is put forth in every aspect of guitar making, and we improve by constantly asking ourselves, is there a better way to do this without losing the human element?
